Welcome to ChoreChing, developed by 1Pound Apps ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use ChoreChing.

2.1 Parent Information

• –Email address (for account creation, authentication, and password resets)
• –Parent PIN (securely hashed and stored)
• –Account settings and preferences

2.2 Children's Information

• –Child's name (user-provided, does not have to be a real name)
• –Child PIN (securely hashed and stored)
• –Chore names and completion data (user-provided)
• –Allowance and payment history (user-provided)

We use the information we collect to:

• –Provide and maintain the ChoreChing service
• –Authenticate family accounts (parents and children use the same credentials)
• –Track chore completion and allowance payments
• –Generate weekly history and reports

ChoreChing is designed for family use, where parents create a shared account and manage access for their children. We take children's privacy seriously:

• –We only collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service
• –Only users with access to a valid email can create an account
• –We do not share children's (or anyone's) information with third parties
• –We do not use children's data for advertising or marketing purposes
• –We do not include third-party analytics or advertising in the app
• –Parents have full control over their children's data and can delete it at any time. Parents do not have to use real names of their children; nicknames or codenames work just the same.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information:

• –All PINs are securely hashed using industry-standard encryption (Argon2)
• –Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections
• –Access to data is restricted and authenticated

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share the information you've provided to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances the lawyers feel should be stated:

• –To comply with legal obligations or valid legal requests (unclear why that would ever occur)
• –To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property (unclear why that would ever be necessary)

You have the right to:

• –Access your personal information
• –Correct inaccurate information
• –Delete your account and all associated data
• –Export your data
• –Withdraw consent at any time

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. When you delete your account, all associated data (including children's profiles, chores, and payment history) is permanently deleted.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
