This policy is intentionally written in plain language. No legal maze. No buried surprises.
1Pound Apps built Wuzzup because we believe software should work for you — not exploit you. This policy explains exactly what information Wuzzup collects, what it does with it, and what it does not collect. We keep this short because there is very little to say.
Wuzzup collects only the following:
Username
Used to identify your account within the app and let friends find or connect with you.
Password
Used to secure your account. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing — we cannot read your password.
That is the complete list. No name, no email address, no phone number, no age, no demographic data of any kind is required or collected.
Wuzzup does not collect, access, store, or transmit any of the following:
Wuzzup may request access to your device's camera if you choose to add a friend by scanning a QR code invite. This is entirely optional.
Camera is never required. Every action that can be performed with a QR code scan can also be completed by typing or pasting a plain-text invite code. You will always be offered both options.
When camera access is used, the camera is active only during the scan itself. No images or video are captured, recorded, or stored by the app at any point.
The username and password you provide are used solely to:
Your information is not used for advertising, marketing, analytics, or any purpose beyond the above.
No. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party — ever. There are no advertising partners, no analytics services receiving your data, and no data brokers involved.
The only exception would be if we were legally compelled to disclose information by a valid court order or law enforcement request — and given that we collect almost nothing, there would be very little to hand over.
Your account information (username and hashed password) is retained as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed.
Wuzzup is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, if the changes are significant, notify users within the app. We will never introduce data collection practices that contradict our guiding principles without clear, explicit notice.
